It's been a while and I'm sorry, but I had no time due to my jobs ( fast food, babysitter) and of course I tried to study a little for my upcoming exam...I haven't slept much these past two night, and I think I will not have a chance to rest till end of October, for I'll be working at the fast food every night ( my boss has some trouble with his other activity and cannot leave my co-worker alone, so I'm on)
anyway...later, this afternoon, I will have the first meeting at the musical academy! I'm so, so excited about it!!!! I will tell you later, or tomorrow, now I have to go to the gym!

Sfizeria
This is how the place where I work is called : Sfizeria! I really don'y know from where this name is taken but it sounds good :D
anyway, I found out that they have an internet site!
www.sfizeria.com
Here's a couple a pictures :

( The outside : it is a huge place, isn't it ? )

and can you see the guy standing there in the corner, staring seriously at the camera? He's my boss!
He looks like a bear , he's rude but I know that deep inside ( very deep, though... you have to dig for a while, I guess :P ) he's good hearted :)
Today costumers told me my "kebabs" were tasty and they truly enjoyed them! I was so happy, it is so nice to recieve good remarks for you job well done!
Now I will go to sleep... good night!

Working day!
This morning I woke up at 9 and I was late! I had to run at work, a part time, where I had to do a general cleaning...I managed to clean up the kitchen, yes, the kitchen only, and it took me three hours and a half! This evening I went to the fast food and in a hour it got so crowded I could not believe it was the same place! :P
Believe it or not, I think that Someone up above has heard my prayers, for my co-worker was gloomy for sales were not as good as she hoped and I told her not to lose faith and to believe that things' gonna be alright...then costumers kept coming till late midnight and none of us could sit and rest or even have dinner!
It was a great night, a tiring one, but still great!
My boss eventually gave me an extra wage tonight for my job well done!
Tomorrow I will post some pictures of the place where I work on weekends, this famous fast food I keep talking about! Now I really need some rest...good night!

Compliments
While preparing some kebab at the fast food, tonight...
boss: "..."
me: " ...?"
boss: "..uhm..."
me: " yes? there's something wrong? "
boss: " you're taking it too easily, why don't you sing and whistle in the meantime?"
me: " really? you want me to sing? *_* "
boss: " ... keep doing your job, quick!"
me: " oh, ok! ^_^ "
What happens when all you can think of is singing out loud, to free your soul in the only way you know, to communicate to others in your own special way, to whistle a tune that seems stuck into your mind?
Well, you want to sing even when you're cooking and lots of people is waiting for the orders behind you :P
But I did not sing tonight, or at least I did not do it in front of the costumers... but after midnight, I was cleaning up the kitchen and I sang a little, just to distract myself from the pain I felt in my feet ( to stand for almost 6 hours would kill anyone, I assure you) and when I got out of the place a man sitting outside with his wife, my boss and another friend, told me I had a good voice.
My cheeks turnes red, for I didn't know they were actually listening...I said " Thank you" and then be gone as fast as Speedy Gonzales, straight to my car!
I'm not used to compliments, I will never be, I think, but I Am grateful :)
Now I am tired, another day is over ( or at least it seems..) so I'm going to sleep.
Good night!

Just back from work...
What do you call running through a storm ( a real one, with rain, thunders- which I'm dramatically afraid of -and lots of water inundate the street as you walk ) to get to work at 7 pm, serve people till 1 am, clean up everything before closing time and all of this for 15 euros? ( almost 23 dollars, I presume)
Well, this is what I call " my life so far".
I'm not complaining, though.
I earn money to pay my voice lessons ( the next is gonna be this Wednesday! oh, I can't wait!)
I'm just a little tired, but I can make it!
Sometimes I think of all the things I can do and I believe I'd be able to make a living anywhere! When I think of what I would like to do, instead, I cannot help thinking that the better places for me to go are New York or London, but I must be patient and not haste, for I'm not ready yet.
Time will come...In the meantime I will do my best with the things I'm involved in : first of all, I want to get my degree!;-)
Anyway, I'm just back from work...It's 2 am here and tomorrow I'll have to get up at 7 in order to be at work again at 8.
What more to say? My auditions will be on Saturday and on next Thursday and I'm completely frightened...but these are my great chances, I'm not gonna let anything or anyone stop me :D
I did my english exams last Tuesday and Thursday and I'm waiting for the results to be published. If I did it well, the oral exam's gonna be in October...I guess I will have to start opening my books and take a look at the program!
But not now, now it's time to sleep, so I kiss you good night and sweet dreams everybody!

I'm tired
Yesterday I could not update this blog for I felt so tired I could hardly stand. It was 2 am when I finally came back home from work and now I'm just checking emails and take a look around before leaving because the kids are waiting for me!
Sometime I wonder what my life could have been if my father was still alive and in good health...maybe I would have spent all of time studying, maybe I would already have my degree and fulfilled his dream, maybe...well, maybe I would have been someone else, someone different, someone I wouldn't recognize as myself.
Uhm...at the end of the day I like the person I'm becoming, even though I know I have lots of things to work on, and I know I am this way because of all the things happened till now in my life, so why should I complain, after all?
What a depressing post!
Never mind! I'm off, my kids await! :)

Working in a Fast-Food
well, before I started working there, it was a Moderate speed- food :P not their fault, though..it's all about timing, and they still didn't get it.
I like to work ( well, I like to earn money, that's it! :D ) and, lucky me, I am a fast learner, so in a week I became faster than them, I prepare kebab ( or schawarma, it has so many names but take a look at the picture and you'll know what I'm talking about )

in less than a minute, and I already know how to use all of the machines they have ( good things to add to my curriculum for my future career as a dishwasher in some Ny City fast food, muahahahaha..err...I mean, it is always good to know how to do lots of different things and collect experiences for, anywhere I go and as long as I have my own two hands, I can work to make a living :) )
There are good and bad things about working in a fast food ( not a big one such macdonalds or whatsoever, but a small-medium sized one, not situated in the middle of the city but still in a crowded place ) and there they are...
Good things:
1) you get to know lots of people and have something that sounds like a"social life" ( I've been a caregiver for 7 years, and social life was a fantasy of mine till now :P )
2) you learn to prepare different dishes in less than a minute (and it's great, especially when you don't have much time for yourself)
3) people actually smile while giving you their money! and they say thanks too!( Isn't it amazing? :D )
4) at the end of the day all of the leftover is yours ( I just don't know how many fries I brought home tonight *_* )
5) you are not going to lift something that weighs more than 120 pounds ( thanks God!)
Bad things:
1) You have to stand on your feet all the time. You cannot sit even if you want to, for if you've finished serving people, well, you must clean out the tables or throw the garbage or just listen to your boss while he's complaining for something you are not really interested in.
2) Your boss: he has the right to be nervous, to sit and talk with costumers, to leave whenever he wants and to tell you what to do, always. ( Just say " yes, sir" and go on with your duties :P )
3) On the third day, you finally get sick of all the things you sell and that's good if you are on diet like me, but not if you have to dine there everyday, and of course you cannot show it to your costumers : everything is delicious, always.
4) Social life : if you had a real social life ( friends, parties, boyfriend and more, not like mine :P) well, forget it. Depending on your hours , you will be stuck behind the counter all nights, or just too tired to go out with your friends, and you'll probably miss birthdays, parties and so on.
Anyway, it's still a good job, not the one I've always dreamt of but people are kind to me ( as long as I smile, they smiles me back...that's so nice :D) , my boss and his wife are kind to me also and I'm saving my wages to pay university taxes ( what a blow..) and to buy a ticket for my next year trip to NY!
